Esalen Massage is a comprehensive and soothing technique that takes a holistic approach to promote healing and relaxation. With long, flowing strokes, gentle rocking and stretching, and deep tissue sculpting, it helps release tension and stress throughout the body. The precision of acupressure is also integrated to target specific points of tension and encourage overall well-being.
To enhance the healing experience, I may also incorporate craniosacral-based energy work during the massage. By gently diagnosing and releasing tension from the craniosacral tissues around the skull and spine, this technique reduces strain on the central nervous system and promotes a sense of calm and embodiment.
To meet your individual needs, deep tissue exploration can also be included to address areas of chronic tension or pain.
When receiving an Esalen Massage, you can expect to experience long, flowing strokes that travel from the top of your body all the way down and back up again. The pressure used during the massage will vary as your body relaxes and opens to the touch, but will always be full-handed and deeply connected.
Esalen Massage goes beyond the physical benefits of bodywork by also focusing on energy exchange and promoting psychological well-being. Through the use of nurturing touch, this holistic technique can help release tension, calm the mind, and create a sense of wholeness and integration within the body-mind-spirit system.
Before your Esalen Massage session, we recommend avoiding alcohol and stimulants. It’s also important not to eat within 30 minutes of your session, but do make sure to hydrate well beforehand.
To enhance your experience, we suggest setting an intention for what you would like to explore or gain insight into during the session. This can help deepen your connection to your inner self.
During the session, clients have the option to disrobe to their comfort level. If you choose to disrobe, rest assured that our therapists are trained in draping techniques to ensure your comfort and privacy at all times.
After your treatment, it’s important to allow yourself plenty of time and space to fully integrate the experience. Avoid consuming alcohol and exposing yourself to loud noises or crowded environments. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Be kind and gentle with yourself following the treatment, and consider using journaling as a tool for reflecting upon any insights or messages you may have received from your inner self. Remember to honor your own pace and needs as you continue on your healing journey.
